 VACANCIES

                          Scholarship Committee

 The Chitimacha Tribal Council is seeking to appoint two Members to the Scholarship Committee to fill terms that will expire on September 20, 2012.  A stipend will be provided.  Interviews will be conducted of interested applicants.

 Qualifications:  All Scholarship Committee Members must be at least 18 years of age at the time of their appointment and must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.

Responsibilities:  Establish eligibility criteria for scholarship recipients; oversee the implementation of the program; and compliance of the participants.  Duties include review of all applications each quarter or semester; on-going development of the guidelines to ensure fair and equitable practice; and serve in an advisory capacity to the Chitimacha Tribal Council.

“LEAD CHILD CARE PROVIDER”

 

The Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana has a position available at CCDC / Yaamahana for a full-time Lead Child Care Provider.

 Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED and must be 18 years of age. A Childcare Development Associate (CDA) or a Technical Degree in Care and Development of Young Children AND one (1) year of relevant childcare experience.

 

·         Preference will be given to qualified Native Americans.

·         Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.

·         Subject to pre-employment physical examination.

·         A background investigation will be required.

“PART-TIME CASHIER”

 

 

The Chitimacha Trading Post is looking for a part-time Cashier. This person will be responsible for operating the register, daily clean-up around register area, transfer ice daily and bags groceries as needed. 

 QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma or GED and must be 18 years of age. Must be respectful to customers. Must be dependable and conscientious. Also motivated and able to work independently.

 

·        Preference will be given to qualified Native Americans.

·         Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.

·         A background investigation will be required.

 

 

FIREFIGHTER

 SCOPE OF POSITION:  Under the direct supervision of the Captain and general supervision of the Fire Chief, undertakes and performs a variety of fire protection, fire prevention and fire fighting duties. Works a varied schedule. Subject to call-out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 DUTIES:  Responds to a variety of fire, medical emergency, rescue and hazmat relates calls. Assesses fire and emergency scenes. As authorized, identifies and determines required equipment and recommends approaches and techniques required to accomplish tasks. Replaces supplies, equipment and other materials used. As assigned, drives fire apparatus and fire equipment.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A high school diploma or GED AND one (1) year of relevant fire fighter, fire protection, fire prevention or closely related fire fighting experience.

 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be eighteen years of age and possess a valid State of Louisiana driver’s license and clean driving record.

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO QUALIFIED NATIVE AMERICANS.

SUBJECT TO PRE-EMPLOYMENT AND RANDOM DRUG TESTING.

SUBJECT TO PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL AND ANNUAL PHYSICAL THEREAFTER.

A BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION WILL BE REQUIRED.
